Ralph Anastasio, 82 Among the first NYPD civilian employees, Army veteran Ralph Anastasio, 82, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2019, at his residence in Monroe Twp., N.J. Ralph was born and raised in Brooklyn and moved to Staten Island in 1964, settling in Monroe Twp., six years ago. Ralph proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Ralph was employed by the US Customs Service and the US Postal Service until the late 1960's when he joined the NYPD as a senior police administrative aide. He was one of the first civilian employees. Ralph was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and the Elks in Staten Island and he enjoyed watching old Western movies. Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Regina Anastasio of Monroe Twp., his son, George Anastasio and his wife, Randi, of Bridgewater, two daughters: Roberta Anastasio-Franklin and her husband, Robert, and Angela Anastasio and her husband, Donald, all of Staten Island, five grandchildren: Joseph Lebron and his wife, Jaclyn, Jennifer Mattera and her husband, John, Phillip Balseca, Jeremy Anastasio and Matthew Anastasio, six great- grandchildren: Joseph Jr., Mia, Mikayla, Julianna, JJ and Azante, two brothers: Joshua 'Jesse' Anastasio and his wife, Doris, of Toms River and Albert Anastasio and his wife, Betty, of Arizona and two sisters: Louise DeCicco of Long Island and Patricia Francioni and her husband, Marino, of Coral Gables, Fla. Also surviving are many extended family members and friends. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 14, 2019, and 11 to 11:45 a.m. on Monday, July 15, 2019, at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc., 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., N.J. 08831 (732) 521-0555, www.demarcofuneralhome.com .
