Joseph E. Palmieri Jr.
Joseph E. Palmieri Jr., 68 Loving family man Joseph E. Palmieri Jr., 68, passed away suddenly in Kissimmee, Fla., on July 3, 2019. Born Dec. 10, 1950, he was raised on Blackford Ave. in Port Richmond until the family moved to Eltingville. He was a son of the late Rose and Joseph Palmieri. He and his brother, Sal took over the family business, Joseph E. Palmieri Painting, in 1970 and he also built homes on Staten Island in the 1980's under Princedale Estates Inc. He graduated from New Dorp High School in 1968, and attended Staten Island Community College for two years. He married Donna Buono on Sept. 15, 1974. Upon their marriage they moved to Eltingville and then Princess Bay and in 1991 moved to Holmdel, N.J. He had a home in Kissimmee, Fla., where he loved to spend most of his time being near his son, Joseph who said, "My Dad had a larger than life personality, always smiling and telling a joke, the life of the party. He had hands of gold and was always there to lend a helping hand, there was nothing he couldn't fix or build." He loved his 1972 Buick Riviera and painting landscape scenes and gardening, growing roses and tomatoes in his spare time. He was an amazing cook, you never left his home hungry. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna, son, Joseph, brother, Salvatore (Eileen), sisters, Donna Folino (Phil) and Sandra Graziano (Jerry), and many nieces, nephews and grandnieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations to Children's Hospital of Philadelpia, give.chop.edu , are appreciated. Viewing at Hanley Funeral Home began Thursday, from 7 to 9 p.m. and continues Friday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass is on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Church, Dongan Hills.
