JOHN DARRYL SNYDER
age 80 of Parma Heights, entered into rest July 6, 2019 at his lake house in the woods. Dearly loved husband of 56 years to Ellen (nee Beyer); loving father of Sharon Snyder-Suhy and Mark Suhy (husband); brother of the late Patricia Chalmers and Beverly McNeil; son of the late Harry and LaVerne Snyder (nee Stone). He is also survived by his cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, friends and neighbors. All of whom he loved very much. He graduated from Berea High School and attended Fenn College and Cleveland State University. While enlisted in the United States Navy on the USS Collett DD-730 as a boiler technician, John enjoyed many adventures and climbed Mt. Fuji in Japan. Starting as an apprentice at Warner and Swasey, he retired as the Plant Engineer at Commonwealth Aluminum. An avid boater, car and aviation enthusiast, he always enjoyed being outdoors and sharing these passions with others. John was also a talented mechanic and carpenter and built his lake house from the ground up with his wife. He was a member of Parma South Presbyterian and also attended Dellroy United Methodist.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org/give/memorials- and dedications.html or by calling 800 805-5856.
