Mary Smith Aug. 4, 1922 - June 20, 2019 Mary Smith, aged 96, passed away peacefully in the early morning of June 20, 2019. She was born in Amboy, Wash., to Mike and Sophia Jogoff. After graduating from Woodland High School, she proceeded to St. Joseph's Hospital in Vancouver, Wash., for nurses training. She went on to be a private nurse for many residences in the Portland area. She met William "Bill" Smith in 1945 and was married four months later. They were together for 73 years. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Marjorie Lambert; and her brother, Louie George. She is survived by her husband, Bill; and her children, Wm George (Carol) Smith, James Milo (Claudia) Smith and Teresa Sophia (Gilbert) Barthelemy; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mary was a lover of all animals, enjoyed traveling by car, fishing, clamming and gardening. She brought joy to everyone she met. A celebration of life will be held for family and friends.
