John J. Lense Jr. John J. Lense Jr. "Fisherman John," a U.S. Navy veteran, 79, of Springwater, passed away unexpectedly on July 4, 2019. He was a loving husband, father, brother and papa. He is survived by his wife, Christine; son, John (Annie) Lense; daughter, Melissa (Lense) Murtha; stepdaughters, Charlene (Dan) Welsh and Brenda (John) Cullinan; along with grandchildren, Tyler and Trent, Colton and Dillon, Annabella, J J and Cameron and Cassidy and Abby.He was also the beloved brother of Heidi (David) Burgee, Robert (Jackie) Lense and the late Sally (Lense) Way. John was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed all sports; he especially loved his Yankees. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 14, beginning at 1 p.m. at the American Legion Post 34,1513 Palmyra St., Shortsville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Legion Post 34.
