Lester Conner Jr. Oct. 22, 1930 - July 2, 2019 On July 2, 2019, Lester Conner Jr. "Les", of Vancouver, passed away at the age of 88. Les was born Oct. 22, 1930 to Lester and Winnetta Conner in Portland. Growing up in Gresham with six siblings, Les left home in 1947 to join the Army. Upon his discharge Les returned to Portland, where he met the love of his life, Nancy. Les and Nancy were married April 24, 1953 and soon after bought a home in Portland - where they raised three boys, Greg, Dale and Larry. Les is survived by his wife, Nancy; his three sons, Greg, Dale (Luanne), Larry (Tammy); nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Les is also survived by five of his siblings, Charles, Lois, Linda, Kathy and Barbie. Les was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Donnie. Les' love of cars resulted in a successful career as an automotive mechanic and a lifelong passion of restoring and driving vintage automobiles. Les was a member of several car clubs, including HACO, Cascade Pacific Plymouth Club and Ford V8 Club – where he made numerous lifelong friendships and went on numerous car tours with Nancy. Les was also a member of Hillcrest Nazarene Church in Vancouver. Les will be missed by all of his friends and family. A graveside service for Les will be held at later date this summer.
