Dorothy Lee "Dottie" (Cordell) D'Arcy
Dorothy "Dottie" Lee (Cordell) D'Arcy, age 85, died peacefully in her sleep on July 5, 2019 in New Braunfels, Texas. Dottie was born on November 19, 1933 at Coronado NAS, San Diego, California to Ivy R. Cordell, USMC and Elizabeth G. (Schwarzer) Cordell. She had one older sister, Mary E. Cordell who predeceased her in 2011. Dottie is survived by her husband Dr. Gerald "Jerry" P. D'Arcy and daughters: Sherry D. Lemen, Janet Lee Kirkland, Nancy Diane D'Arcy, Deborah Elizabeth Friesenhahn and Helen Elaine D'Arcy, son-in-laws: Donald J. Lemen III, James C. Kirkland, John H. Friesenhahn, Grandchildren: Donald J. Lemen IV, David G. Lemen, Jesse S. Kirkland, Frederick H. Friesenhahn, Darcy L. Friesenhahn, Neal M. Friesenhahn, Granddaughters-in-law: Kimberly Damo Lemen, Elyse Faz Lemen and great-grand children: Keanu C. Lemen, Aubrey E. Lemen and Skylar A. Lemen. Dottie will be remembered as a southern hostess who loved baking pecan pies, German sweet-chocolate cake and lasagna. She sang in the church choir for many years and looked forward to all the Holidays, wives' clubs and luncheons which brought out her fun loving personality. Above all, Dottie loved her husband of 65 years, her five Girls and her extended church family. Dottie's life will be celebrated on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at First United Methodist Church, Panama City beginning at 1:30 pm for visitation and 2:00 pm service.
