Theresa F. Stahlman Jan. 14, 1938 - July 6, 2019 Theresa "Terry" Stahlman, age 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by her daughters Saturday morning, July 6, 2019. There will be a private family memorial at Springer and Son Aloha Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held from 5 - 7 p.m., Saturday, July 13, 2019, at the home of her daughter, Kathleen, at 2723 S.E. Brent Street, Hillsboro, OR 97123, open to all family, friends and others whose lives Theresa touched, pot-luck option, pie is provided. Theresa was born in St. Louis, Mo., to the late August and Freda Finder. Her brothers, John Paul and Charlie, have preceded her in death; she is survived by her sisters, Anna Mae Scanlon (Missouri) and Mary Lou Erwin (California). In 1956 she married Norman Stahlman and in 1968 moved her family to Oregon. As an avid horsewoman she raised, trained and showed horses for over 60 years. She was an active volunteer with the Washington County Sheriff's Posse starting in 1992. She was eventually elected Captain, becoming the first woman in the Oregon Association of Mounted Posses to hold that position. During retirement, she and her husband of 57 years traveled and enjoyed their Willow Creek Farms property which they shared with her daughter Christina's family. The farm included a yearly walnut harvest which Theresa especially enjoyed. She was lovingly known as the 'Walnut Baroness." Always active, growing and learning at the age of 80, she also was proud of having written and published three short books. Theresa was preceded in death by her son, Tyree in 1979; and her husband, Norman in 2013. She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Dingle, Christina Dunn; her son-in-law, Craig Dunn; and five grandchildren, CJ, Jesse, Casey, Tyree and Michaela. Memorials may be sent to Springer & Son Aloha Funeral Home at 4150 S.W. 185th, Aloha, OR 97006 or to the family's Celebration of Life home mentioned above.
