In memory of
Alva Bruursema
Bruursema, Alva Our beloved Alva Bruursema, age 85, of Grandville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 6, 2019. Alva lived a fulfilling life as an incredible wife to Tyce J. Bruursema and mother to Lori Baker, Connie (Mark) Griffen, and Jan Bruursema. She greatly cared for her grandkids, Jenny, Kristina, Karla, Emily, and Neal. She was also blessed to spend time with her great-grandsons, Henry, Tyce, and Owen. Alva is also survived by her sister, Neva (Harv) Warsen. Alva shared in so many cherished times with the many friends she has made over the years. She was also a pillar of faith and valued her relationships with the members of her church. Alva was so thankful for the 67 wonderful years she was married to her best friend, Tyce. They loved to travel and made many beautiful memories together. She loved creating things through crafting, sewing, and knitting, and sharing them with others. Alva enjoyed spending time with her family the most. Her legacy and values will live on through them. We will remember all those moments and celebrate Alva's life on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at Hanley Christian Reformed Church (372 Jackson St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418). The visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3:45-4:45 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 5:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Winchester Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Alva has requested that donations be made to either Byron Center Christian School or Hanley Christian Reformed Church. Condolences may be sent online at www.mkdfuneralhome.com .
