Teresa Cumbest Orso
Teresa Kay (Cumbest) Orso, of Mobile, celebrated independence from her infirmities on July 4, 2019. She was born on April 3, 1958, in Pascagoula, MS. Teresa personified a Proverbs 31 woman, deeply devoted to her faith, her family and her friends. She was raised in Hurley, MS, graduating from East Central High School in 1976. She graduated from Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL, in 1980 with a bachelor's degree in English and Speech. Teresa was always committed to serving others, sharing her Christian values and investing her knowledge in future generations. She worked in both public and private schools as a teacher and administrator. She was very active in church, working closely in children and youth ministries for many years. She is survived by her husband of 40 years Robert Orso of Mobile, AL; two daughters Logan (Jorge) Delgado and Lauren Orso, each of Mobile; son Shaffer (Nathalie) Orso of Birmingham; parents S.E. "Buddy" and Judy Cumbest of Hurley; mother-in-law Voncile Orso of Tanner Williams; sisters Hope (Gareth) Clary and Suzette Cumbest, each from Hurley; sister-in-law Marcia Orso of Tanner Williams; two grandsons Alex Delgado and Beni Delgado, each of Mobile; two nephews Trevor Clary of Hurley and Stephen Orso of Tanner Williams; niece Daphne (Matt) Bragg of Fort Meade, MD, and two great nieces Evie Bragg and Addie Bragg. Teresa was preceded in death by her father-in-law Bobby Orso of Tanner Williams; brother-in-law Neal Orso, as well as her maternal and paternal grandparents. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 9, 2019, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Magnolia Springs Assembly of God located at 7300 Campground Road, Moss Point, MS, 39562. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Magnolia Springs Assembly of God. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery.
