Velma Madge Adams
Velma Madge Adams, 90, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Hanover Terrace with her family at her side. She was born November 12, 1928 in Chicago, IL to Eunice (Merrill) and Ray Buxton.  She grew up in central Maine before moving to Windsor, VT, where she met and married John Quincy Adams. The couple moved their family to California for six years before settling in Canaan, NH. Velma was very active in the beginning stages of the Faith Baptist Church of Canaan. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and created amazing gifts for her loved ones. Her passions were God and her family. Velma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Q. Adams; sons, James Q. Adams and Anthony S. Adams; brother, Ray Buxton, Jr.; and sister, Shirley Buxton King. Velma is survived by her son, John Q. Adams, Jr. of Dorchester; daughter, Irene (Martin) Wahl of Canaan; grandchildren, Dan (Mary) Wahl, Nathan Wahl, Philip (Leah) Wahl, James (Katherine) Adams, Julie Adams, Heather (Derek) Heffner, Dustin (Sarah) Adams, Holly Adams, and Hillary (Jonny) Silva; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her family would like to say a special thanks to the wonderful staff at Hanover Terrace for the wonderful care they showed Velma during her time there. Friends and Family are invited to a Memorial Service to be held Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at Hope Bible Fellowship in West Lebanon, NH. A reception will follow.
