Salvatore Cascio, 86 Devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather Salvatore Cascio of Eltingville passed away on June 10, 2019, at Seaview Rehabilition Center surrounded by his loving family. Born in Brooklyn on June 21, 1932, to Leonardo and Giovanna, he worked for over 65 years for the Cement and Concrete Laborers Union. He was secretary, treasurer and business agent for Local 6A. Salvatore was a patient and kind man. He was devoted to his wife, Carmela, who passed away on July 11, 2018. He had a terrific sense of humor and made people laugh and smile when he came in contact with them. He was a former Boy Scout leader, member of the Seniors Guild at Our Lady Star of the Sea and a member of the Mall Walkers Club. He is survived by his loving children, Leonard, Salvatore and JoAnn Morrison; fond father-in-law to Shari, Jenny and Dennis; devoted grandfather to Laura, Jillian, Jack, Robert, Salvatore, Leonard and Gregory. He is also survived by his two great-grandsons. A gathering of family and friends will take place today and Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals, Inc. 28 Eltingville Blvd., S.I. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday at the Church of the Holy Child at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow in Holmdel Cemetery.
