David Paul Cooper
David Paul Cooper passed away Sunday, June 9, 2019 in Ocean Springs, MS. David was born in Greenville, MI on May 9, 1947 to Paul Leo Cooper and Cecil Watson Cooper Johnson. He was a Vietnam War veteran, having served in the United States Navy Seabees. In 2019, he retired after 43 years as Chief Investigator for Ingalls Shipbuilding. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Pascagoula. He is preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, John Cooper. David is survived by his wife of 39 years, Deborah Rockwell Cooper; three sons, David Kimball Cooper (Regina) of Woolmarket, MS, Damon Anthony Garcia (Lizabel) of Austin, TX , Dustin Prentiss Cooper and fiancee', (Jerica Gary) of Ocean Springs, MS; two grandchildren, Eyan Joseph Cooper and Esme' Alice Stella Garcia; sister, Susan Davis ( Joe) of Powder Springs, GA; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Monday, June 17, 2019 at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula from 4-6pm followed by graveside service at Machpelah Cemetery with military honors. Serving as Honorary pallbearers will be Benny Weinberg, Chuck Purdy, Steve Jones, Weldon Banks, Scott Cumbest, and Adam Brewer. Memorials in his honor can be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
