Travis Lee Pennington
Travis Lee Pennington went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 10, 2019 at age 87. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Rosie Pennington; two children, Sheila Oswalt and Terry Pennington; eight grandchildren, Charlena (Timothy) Milligan, Phillip (Jennifer) Oswalt, Angie (Achim) Schottmann, Amelia (Tommy) Hicks, Amanda Oswalt, Joseph (Christie) Thomas, and Kelsey MaLeigh Oswalt; fifteen great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren; one brother, Hubert Frazier (Mary) Pennington; sister-in-law, Gloria Pennington; brothers-in-law, Rev. C.J. (Margaret) Shaver and Lonnie (Linda) Shaver; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Travis is preceded in death by his grandson, Christopher Thomas; son-in-law, Charles Oswalt; parents, Willie and Ellie Pennington; and six brothers and two sisters. He retired from CSX Railroad after many years of service. He played the lead guitar over the years for several quartets and was loved by all who knew him. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 12, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Gardendale Funeral Home. The funeral will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with entombment to follow at Oakwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
