Joan Ciarletta Parish bookkeeper, devoted wife, loving mother & grandmother Joan Ciarletta, 85 of Belleville, N.J., passed away on Friday, May 31, 2019. Born in Newark, N.J., Joan was the daughter of the late Anthony and Vita (Lorusso) Ponticello. Joan lived in Nutley, N.J., before coming to Belleville 32 years ago and was a bookkeeper for Holy Family Parish in Nutley. She was also a member of the Holy Family Rosary Altar Society and a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. Joan was predeceased by her beloved husband, Fred Ciarletta. She is survived by her children, Gary Ciarletta and Maria Casillas and her husband, Jose', and her grandchildren, Anthony, Michael and Joseph Saupe. She also leaves her sister, Barbara Garruto. The funeral will be from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home ( www.swbrownandson.com ), 267 Centre St., Nutley, on Wednesday, June 5, at 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, Nutley, at 10:30 a.m. Cremation will be private. Visiting will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Family Church, 28 Brookline Ave., Nutley, N.J. 07110 ( www.holyfamilynutley.org ).
