James Howard (JJ) Crews Jr.
JJ Crews, 42, of Lynn Haven, passed away May 10, 2019, at his home in Lynn Haven. JJ was a native and lifelong resident of Bay County. He was a 1995 graduate of A. Crawford Mosley High School, and studied film scoring and composition at the Berklee College of Music in Massachusetts. In the music industry, JJ wore many hats as a recording engineer, mixer, producer, and musician. Throughout his life he had a passion for music that became Boogie Tracks Studio in Callaway. JJ had a gift for business, and loved traveling and exploring the world. He was preceded in death by his father, J. H. Crews, Sr., and a sister, Babby Crews. Survivors include his mother, Donna Crews of Callaway; his soulmate of 14 years, Malinda Garrison of Lynn Haven; a sister, Riva Siegel of Ft. Lauderdale; his nephews Dylan and Benton; two loving aunts, Rita Blevins and Judy Martin; his cousins; his business assistant, Katrina Roberts, and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, May 17, 2019, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jay Powell officiating. Entombment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 1:00 pm until service time at 2:00. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the Building Fund of the First Baptist Church of Bayou George.
