William Corby Carey
William Corby Carey, age 68, of Denver, Colorado, formerly of Rocky River, passed away on February 13, 2019. Bill is survived by his wife, Gayle; son, Christopher; and siblings: Thomas (Edith), Pamela Batz (William), John (Lein), and Elizabeth Kish (Stephen) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Arthur F. and Marie Corby Carey. Bill was a graduate of Gilmour Academy '68 and the University of Notre Dame '72 where he was in R.O.T.C. and commissioned an officer. Bill served overseas at several posts in the U. S. Army Special Forces and attained the rank of Captain. After his military service, he received a post-graduate degree in accounting at the Ohio State University. A forensic accountant, Bill was an expert witness in both national and international trials. Bill was a loving husband, father, and an avid outdoorsman and skier. A memorial mass will be held at St. Christopher Church, 20141 Detroit Road, Rocky River on Saturday, May 18 at 11:00 AM. Friends may call at the church one hour before Mass at 10:00 AM.
