Michael W. Barile, 89 Dedicated NYPD officer and Army veteran loved to travel Michael W. Barile passed away peacefully in his condo, surrounded by family, on May 5, 2019. He was the devoted husband to his childhood sweetheart, Catherine "Kitty" Barile, who passed in 2002. He was the loving father to Michael, John, Eddie, Bobby, and Kathy; and a loving grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Mike was born on May 11, 1929, and was a lifelong Staten Island resident until retiring to Florida in 1991. He was a proud Army veteran, serving two tours of duty during the Korean War. He was a dedicated NYPD police officer from 1953 to1981. Softball was his passion but if he wasn't on the field you could find him fishing down Midland Beach. Mike and Kitty loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held in Florida at a date to be determined.
