In memory of
Loreto "Lou" Turco Jr
Loreto "Lou" Turco, Jr. passed away peacefully at home on Thursday May 9, 2019. Lou is survived by his loving wife, Helen Lorraine "Lori" (nee Holler), children Tracey Turco McIntosh (Brett) of Atlanta, Georgia, Matthew Turco (Jennifer) of Avon, Ohio, and four grandchildren - Kylie and Brendan McIntosh, and Rachel and Nathan Turco. Other family members include brother Francis (Wilma) Turco, brother-in-law Robert (Deanna) Holler and several nieces, nephews and godchildren.
Lou was born October 9, 1940 in New Kensington, Pennsylvania to Frances and Loreto Turco. He received his B. S. in Accounting from Pennsylvania State University in 1963. Lou and Lori met at Penn State and were married in 1965.
After a brief career in accounting and an 11-year stint as an IBM salesman, Lou discovered a talent for turning around struggling small businesses. His first success came from the turnaround of Freeman Manufacturing & Supply Company. This led to numerous opportunities from small advisory roles to full-fledged turnarounds, most of which occupied the majority of his late career.
Lou had many passions, from his family and friends, to hunting, golfing, and exploring California's fine red wines (even though he often drank them with pizza). Lori, his wife of 53 years, was his one true love. His children and grandchildren are proud legacies of a life well-lived. And Lou's generosity, which was always displayed without fanfare and often provided under the conditions of anonymity, revealed a genuine desire to make our world a better place.
Visitation will be held Monday May 13 from 3 pm to 5 pm, with a brief service at 4:45 p.m., at Busch Funeral Home, 163 Avon Belden Road, Avon Lake, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Hospice of Western Reserve of Westlake, Ohio PO Box 72101
