Alma Minnie Hester, 90, of Grand Bay, AL, left us to join our Heavenly Father at the gates of heaven on Friday, May 3, 2019 in Mobile, AL. Alma was born on June 7, 1928 in McLain, MS to the late John and Emma Powe. Alma will be remembered for being a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who always enjoyed spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Alma was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Hester; her children, Thomas Eugene Riggle, Frank Edward Riggle, Billy Ray Riggle, Phillip Donovan Riggle, and Mary Linda Wall; grandson, Phillip D. Riggle Jr.; great-granddaughter, Brittany Riggle; great-great-grandson, Ezra Joseph Ryan; and siblings, James Powe, Elvert Powe, and Marie Furby. She is survived by her grandchildren, Melissa Elliott, Beth (Toby) Stork, Doug (Melanie) Wall II, Tammy Tivet, Rena Wall, Krystale (Brian) Riggle-Turns, and Donna Jean (Clint) Powers; sister, Agnes Hill; son-in-law, Douglas Wall; close friend, Shawn Criswell; along with numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. The visitation for Alma will be held on Monday, May 6, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Escatawpa, MS. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel beginning at 10:00 a.m. with Bro. William Butler officiating. Interment will be held at Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula, MS. Heritage Funeral Home, locally owned and operated, in Escatawpa/Moss Point, MS is in charge of arrangements.
