Filomena 'Elsie' Ciccone 'A warm and wonderful woman' Filomena "Elsie" Ciccone, 96, of Newark and Toms River, N.J., passed away peacefully, Monday, April 29, 2019. Before her retirement, Mrs. Ciccone was a secretary with Schering Pharmaceutical in Kenilworth, N.J., for many years. She was a member of the Ortley Beach Senior Citizens and the Nutley Elks. Mrs. Ciccone's funeral is at 10 a.m. Saturday from the Megaro Memorial Home, 503 Union Ave., Belleville, N.J., ( megaromemorialhome.com ). Mass is at 10:30 a.m. in St. Francis Xavier Church, Newark. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington, N.J. Visitation is Friday, 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, 9 to 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mrs. Ciccone may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105. A warm and wonderful woman, Mrs. Ciccone is survived by her devoted daughter, Marlene Ciccone; her little puppy, Santino Gerard and many kind and caring relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard; parents, Alessio and Rose (nee DeMeo) Maiorana; and sisters, Violet Hunt and Carmella "Millie" Sacco.
