Edward W. Basta Jr. Dear brother, uncle, and guardian worked for NJ Transit, 62 Edward W. Basta Jr., 62, of Woodbridge, N.J., passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2019, at Overlook Medical Center, Summit, N.J. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Memorial Gathering on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 1 p.m., at the Krowicki Gorny Memorial Home, 211 Westfield Ave., Clark, N.J. Born in Elizabeth, N.J., to Edward Sr. and Irene, Mr. Basta grew up in Kenilworth, N.J., lived for several years in Edison, N.J., and most recently in Woodbridge for the past six years. He worked for 30 years with NJ Transit in Newark, N.J., most recently as assistant superintendent. Mr. Basta was a graduate of Rutgers University, where he received his MBA. Mr. Basta is survived by his brother, Richard E. Basta and his wife, Maureen; sister, Joan Agneta and her husband, Michael; one niece, Heather Mailler; and three nephews, Michael Basta (Jennifer), Thomas Basta (Anne) and Mark Mailler (Nicole). He was the caring guardian of Sean E. Lavin. In lieu of flowers, as per Edward's wish, kindly offer donations for the benefit of Sean E. Lavin.
