Carl R. Anderson East Hanover family man, retired machinist, K of C member, 89 Carl R. Anderson, 89, longtime resident of East Hanover, N.J., for 58 years, passed peacefully in his sleep on Monday, April 15, 2019, two days after his beloved wife, Pat. Funeral services will begin at 8:45 a.m Friday, April 26, 2019, at Hancliffe Home for Funerals, 222 Ridgedale Ave., East Hanover, N.J. 07936, hancliffehomeforfunerals.com , with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 9:45 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 312 Ridgedale Ave., East Hanover, N.J. Following Mass, interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 225 Ridgedale Ave., East Hanover. Viewing will be Thursday, April 25, 2019, at Hancliffe Home for Funerals, from 4 to 9 p.m. Born on June 1, 1929, Carl was the son of the late Carl B. Anderson and Ulrika Jansson who immigrated from Arnasull, Sweden. He was united in marriage to Patricia (Bridge) on June 12, 1954. He worked as a machinist for his career, last finishing with Allied Signal for 25 years before retiring. He served in the N.J. Army National Guard, Sgt. Engineer, and was honorably discharged in 1955. In life, he was involved in many activities of his community as a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 6504, East Hanover Seniors, Hanover Park Wrestling Boosters, and supported church fund raising events with his wife. He was a devoted husband of 64 years, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Pat. He is survived by three children, Patricia M. Anderson (Thomas Boettinger), Budd Lake, N.J.; Carl R. Anderson II (Mary Ellen), Colorado Springs, Colo., and John R. Anderson (Kathleen), Avon by the Sea, N.J.; six grandchildren, Katie (Philip) Zubrod, Carl R. Anderson III, John Tyler (Michaella) Anderson, Kaitlyn Anderson, Sean Anderson, and Ryan Anderson; two great-grandchildren, Agnes and Anastasia Zubrod; his brother, Paul (Betty) Anderson, and nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to St. Rose of Lima Church, 312 Ridgedale Ave., East Hanover, N.J.
