Ronald T. Essig Yonkers - Ronald T. Essig of Woodlawn/Pocono Mountains died on April 2, 2019. He was 88 years old. Ronald was born on February 8, 1931 in Queens NY to Arthur and Lillian Coleman Essig.He married Rosemary Woods on September 24, 1955. They were married for 47 years until she was called to her Heavenly Father in May 2003. He served honorably in the Air Force during the Korean War. He began his career as an engineer with Gibbs and Cox and then transitioned to the insurance industry.He was a pillar of the Woodlawn Community for over 3 decades - coach, manager, and commissioner of the Woodlean Boys Club, CCD teacher, choir member, Eucharistic minister for St. Barnabas, and member of the St Barnabas Players. He was an active volunteer with the Red Cross and Passionist Volunteers. Loving father to Rosemary Essig, Laura (John) Essig-McNally, and Ron (Barbara) Essig. Beloved Pop-Pop to Robert, Marybeth, Sean, Liana, and Thomas. Beloved brother to Arthur (Mary) Essig and brother-in-law to Warren and Margaret Trace, both deceased. Loving uncle to 11 nieces and nephews. Visitation entrusted to Flower Funeral Home, Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass Saturday, 9:30 AM at St Barnabas Church. Interment Gate of Heaven.
