Freya Tan Evansville, IN Freya Tan, 59, was born on March 15, 1960 in Rangoon, Burma (Myanmar). She was the wife of Aung Choon, Pathologist at Deaconess Hospital. Freya graduated from Rangoon University with a degree in Industrial Chemistry. She also received a Chemical Engineering degree from the Rangoon Institute of Technology. Freya immigrated to the United States in 1990 from Rangoon, Burma. She worked at Forrest Products Lab in Madison, Wisconsin. She worked on many research projects to improve technology in the paper manufacturing industries. She is survived by her loving nieces and nephews Monica Tan, Wilson Tan, Jessica Tan, Gerald Tan, James Tan, Justin Tan, Nakita Tan, Khin Su Mon, Than Kywe Oo, Su Myat Kyin, Toe Toe Aung Gyi, Pyae Phyo Thinn, Thiri Khine, May Thu Zin, and Khant Nyar Aung. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 19th at Sunset Funeral Home 1800 St. George Road Evansville, IN 47711.
