Howard William "Bud" Rothemeier Evansville, Ind. Howard William "Bud" Rothemeier, 88, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital. Howard was born in Evansville, Indiana on July 31, 1930 to the late Albert and Dorothy (Gerhardt) Rothemeier. He attended Central High School and honorably served in the United States Army. Howard worked at Swift and Company for 17 years and went on to retire from Alcoa in 1992 after 25 years of service. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church and was married at and attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Evansville. Howard was a long-time member of Germania Maennerchor and a life-long member of the Evansville Athletic Club. He raised amazing tomatoes, enjoyed spending time on the golf course and cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals. Howard was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him. Howard is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shirley (Lemcke) Rothemeier of Evansville, IN; sister-in-law, Betty Franklin of Evansville, IN; brother-in-law, Ralph Lemcke of Indianapolis, IN; nieces, Julie Hazzard (Greg) of Brownsburg, IN, Suzie Martin (Mike) of Venice, FL and Sally Hicks (David) of Evansville, IN; nephews, David Franklin (Wendi) and Dan Franklin, both of Evansville, IN; great-nieces, Andrea Lacefield (Joe), Lauren Franklin and Jayme Camara (Kenny); great-nephews, Troy Franklin (Katie), Grant Franklin, Brett Hazzard, Bryan Hazzard (Mary), Robby Franklin, Justin Hicks (Ashley) and Ryan Hicks; and by several great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. Howard was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Catherine Lemcke; sister-in-law, Jean Lemcke; and by his brothers-in-law, Bill Lemcke and Bert Franklin. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave,. Evansville, IN 47711. Burial will follow at Lutheran Cemetery on St. Joseph Avenue. Friends may visit from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Browning Funeral Home and again from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home on Wednesday.
