Harriet Rogers Davis
Harriet Rogers Davis June 5, 1925 - Feb. 24, 2019 Harriet Therese Rogers Davis, the family matriarch, age 93, died peacefully Feb. 24, 2019 in Portland, her daughter at her side. Born in Omaha, Neb., to Frank (fireman) and Louise Sullivan (business leader), third of three children Harriet, Jerry and Paul. They grew up with vivid memories living behind the church in Omaha. In the mid 40's Harriet followed her mother to Portland where she met her husband Lt. Robert Rogers at a USO dance in the old Portland Hotel in 1945. They had three children. Harriet was involved with PTA, Cub Scouts, led the family into boating and was an Office Manager. She organized social events for the Columbia River Yacht Club, neighborhood parties and holiday family gatherings; all grand events at their Alameda Home. Her first son Dean died in Vietnam in 1970 and Robert died in 1983. Harriet and Robert were close friends with Marsh and Doris Davis. After Robert and Doris passed, Marsh and Harriet married. They had a wonderful life in Palm Desert with lots of dear friends, golf, bridge and entertaining. Her legacy of the importance of family is felt through the generations she left behind; her children, Connie Van Dyke (Rod), Larry Rogers (David), Luanne Thielke (Jim), Vona Davis Pease (Bill); her loving brother, Jerry; three grandsons; and three great-grandchildren.
