Ronald F. Girsch
Ronald F. Girsch, 77, of Susquehanna Township, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Select Specialty Hospital, Harrisburg. Ron was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 2, 1941, a son of the late Israel Girsch and Esther Nooger Girsch. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the Alaska Defense Command and the 2nd Armored Division "Hell on Wheels" in Texas. He was a self-employed owner of a marketing company. He was also the founder of a nonprofit organization called Choices for Quality Living to educate children and adults on the health risks of smoking and provide smoke cessation programs. Mr. Girsch was a long-time member of Beth El Temple, Harrisburg, PA. Ron enjoyed a variety of music with his favorites being 1950's and jazz. He loved making people laugh, and always enjoyed in engaging in conversation with anyone who crossed his path whether it be best friend or complete stranger. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Audrey L. Girsch, 2 sons Ian S. Girsch of Harrisburg, Craig M. Girsch and wife Connie of Middletown, 5 grandchildren Emily Teslow and husband James of Sun Prairie, WI, Madison Girsch and wife Crystal of Clarkesville, TN, Michael Girsch of Miami, FL, Jillian Claybaugh and husband Josh of Boiling Springs, Lindsay Reese of Middletown, 4 great grandchildren Ella Teslow, Silas Claybaugh, Mira Claybaugh, and Aria Claybaugh. He was preceded in death by a brother Hyman Grant. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at Beth El Temple Cemetery. Burial will be in Beth El Temple Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of the Hetrick-Bitner Funeral Home, Inc., 3125 Walnut Street Harrisburg, PA 17109.
