Daniel Boyd Griffith
Daniel Boyd Griffith Aug. 30, 1934 - Feb. 8, 2019 Daniel Boyd Griffith, beloved father and husband, died peacefully at age 84. Dan, of Henderson, Nev., was born to Fay and Reese Griffith in Alburquerque N.M. As a young child he moved to Pasadena, Calif., and then to the Eastmoreland area of Portland. After graduation from Cleveland High School, he attended Oregon State University where he pledged Phi Gamma Delta. At Oregon State he met his future wife, Patricia Dawn (Mosley) Griffith. They were married in 1956 and began their life serving in the USAF for three years. After the military, Dan worked for Burn Brothers until 1962 and their daughter Leann was born in 1961. From 1962 through 1968 Patti and Dan lived in Indianopolis and Spokane working for Georgia Pacific before returning to Portland. Upon their return, Dan became CEO of Burns Brothers Inc., where he worked until his retirement in 1998. During their life together Patti and Dan were able to travel extensively while raising their daughter Leann. They traveled to Japan, China, Russia, Israel, Turkey, Egypt, Fiji, Greece and most of Europe. Dan loved to play tennis and golf and enjoyed spending the winter months in Palm Desert, Calif. Dan was active in Rotary, and the Oswego Lake Country Club. After the death of his wife in 2015, Dan moved to Henderson, Nev., to be closer to family.
