Richard A. Fondrk
Richard A. Fondrk, 63, of Jeannette, passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2019, in UPMC East, Monroeville. He was born Oct. 1, 1955, in Jeannette, the son of the late Victor and Anne Daniel Fondrk. Rich was a graduate of Jeannette High School Class of 1973, a graduate of Penn State University, and received his doctorate in veterinary medicine from the University of Pennsylvania. Rich was a self-employed large animal veterinarian. He was involved and enjoyed his time with the Irwin Men's Summer Basketball League, where he participated as a player, manager, and scorekeeper. Rich also was a music enthusiast. In addition to his parents, Rich was predeceased by a brother, Victor Fondrk. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Sherri Ankney Fondrk; his children, Tyler Fondrk, and Tori Fondrk Pipak and husband, Richard, all of Pittsburgh; a sister, Susan Fondrk Austin and husband, Michael, of Norfolk Va.; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the JOHN V. GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 228 N. 2nd St., Jeannette. A blessing service will take place at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel, with Father Paul A. Lisik as celebrant. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. In lieu of flowers, Rich's family would like memorial contributions to be made to the ALS Association of Western Pennsylvania, 416 Lincoln Ave., Millvale, PA 15209, or Penn State THON at THON.org .
