N. Edward Casson
N. Edward Casson CANANDAIGUA - N. Edward Casson, age 96, passed away on Friday, Feb. 8, 2019, with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Celeste Casson; three children, Edward Casson (Stephen May), Michael (Cheryl) Casson and Deborah Casson, N.P.; grandson, Craig (Brittany) Casson; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his infant granddaughter, Danielle. Ed was a proud U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and served in the Middle East, reaching the rank of sergeant. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 256 and the VFW. Ed worked as a salesman for Fitzhugh Floor Covering and Canandaigua Carpets for over 50 years. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family and great-grandchildren. Ed will be remembered as a kind, caring person who enjoyed helping others. The family would like to thank the staff at F. F. Thompson Hospital and M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center for the excellent care he received. Friends may call tomorrow (Monday) from 4 to 7 p.m. at Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home Inc., 47 N. Main St., Canandaigua. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment, with military honors, will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Penn Yan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 4, 400 Fort Hill Ave., Canandaigua, NY 14424. Condolences may be offered at www.johnsonkennedy.com .
