In memory of
Kurt Connell Hobgood
Kurt Connell Hobgood was born September 21, 1951 and passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2019 after a struggle with multiple medical conditions. He was a graduate of Broadmoor High School and attended LA Tech University. His career in radio began in Lake Charles in the mid-70s. He delved into advertising for a few years but was mostly known as an on-air personality, "K.C. O'Connell" with Kajun 103.3 and traffic announcer with Shadow Broadcast SVCS and then Guaranty Group. Approximately a year ago one of his dreams came true; he published his novel entitled, "Evolved" under his pen name, Archer Miller. He was also in the process of writing two additional books and one graphic novel. He was extremely intelligent, witty, sometimes very frustrating; but in a good way! His political views were made known whether you wanted to hear them or not. He was a loving husband, father, friend and animal lover. He is survived by his loving wife, Terri, a son, Mike and two daughters, Adrienne and Kelli; his fur babies, Lexie, Tiger and Nite; father, B.C. "Tony" Hobgood, brother and sister in law, Joel and Kelli Hobgood and a host of other family and friends. He loved gardening, bird watching, planting flowers and all sports, especially LSU and the Saints. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elva Grace Grosch Hobgood; maternal grandparents, Frank Cecil Grosch and Grace Brewer Nelson and paternal grandparents, John Leslie Hobgood and Gladys Talbert Hobgood. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Monday, February 11, 2019 from 10:00am until funeral service time of 2:00pm. Family and friends can send their condolences to www.greenoaksfunerals.com.
