Leroy W. Conklin Sun City Center, FL - Colonel Leroy W. Conklin, formerly of New City, NY, Litchfield, CT and Saratoga, NY, passed away on January 26th, shortly after his 89th birthday. He is survived by his wife, Carol (Culver), his three children, Nancy Spencer and her partner John Housekeeper of VT, Terence and his wife Nancy of NH, and Lee and his wife Ann of NY. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Jillian and Ali Spencer of VT, Jenna Conklin of WA, Terence Conklin of NY and Kristen Conklin of CO and NH. He was predeceased by his first wife, Margaret (Caren) in 2000. Roy was born in Monsey, NY, the only child of Leroy G. and Stefanie (Wagner). A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze and Silver Stars. He was a retired principal from Clarkstown High School South in NY and Wamogo Regional High School in CT. A military memorial service and celebration of life will be held on May 24th, when he is interred at the Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY.
