Barwacz, John Mr. John Barwacz, age 97 of Grand Rapids, went to be with his Lord on Thursday February 7, 2019. He was preceded in death by his wife Genevieve, his daughter Margaret Rose Potter, his siblings Frank, Stanley, and Rose. Surviving are: his sons John (Tina), David, and Joe; his grandchildren Christine (Tom Dixon) Potter, Michael Potter, Michael Barwacz, Kristopher (Mandy) Karolkiewicz; five great grandchildren Keegan, Bennett, Smith, Caroline and Ella; and numerous nieces and nephews. John was an avid sportsman, fisherman, and gardener. He served in the US Navy on the USS Hull during WWII. He was a lifelong member of St. Isidore Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday February 12 at 10:00 AM. He will repose one hour prior to Mass. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans.
