Sam Bogoshian Yorba Linda, CA. - Sam Bogoshian, husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on November 21, 2018 at his Yorba Linda home, surrounded by his family; he was 88 years old. Born on July 30, 1930 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the youngest of five, Sam's parents were Armenian immigrants who fled the Armenian genocide a century ago to become Americans. When Sam was an infant, his family moved to Anaheim, California. After graduating from Anaheim High School where he thrived as a song leader and captain of the varsity tennis team, Sam worked at his family's rug shop and then joined the United States Navy, serving honorably. Sam then went on to attend Fullerton Junior College where he met his future wife, Diane Jobe. Married in 1954 to begin a 64 year life together, Sam and Diane raised three sons in Anaheim and Yorba Linda. Sam was a career firefighter for the Anaheim Fire Department becoming a Fire Captain and inspiring his sons into careers of public service. Sam was a patriotic citizen, avid reader, lifelong tennis player and sailor who loved adventures with Diane in Baja, Catalina and Palm Springs. Sam leaves behind his wife, Diane, his sons, Daniel, Andrew, and Matthew, and three grandchildren. A memorial will be held on February 15 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. at the Alta Vista Golf Course, 777 Alta Vista St, Placentia, CA 92870
