In memory of
Jeffrey Davis Knighton
Jeffrey Davis Knighton March 17, 1952 - Jan. 31, 2019 Jeffrey Davis Knighton passed away Jan. 31, 2019 at the age of 66 and is survived by his wife, Colleen K. Knighton. Jeff was born in Portland March 17, 1952 and graduated from Jackson High School in 1969. He worked for Boeing in Portland for 18 years as an Inventory Control Specialist and retired in 2004 due to an illness. Jeff was a very caring and generous person and always came prepared for any situation ready to help. He would demonstrate this over the 30 years we went RVing. Jeff was known as the "Fireman," no matter what time of day or night you could always find a fire going and Jeff standing over the fire. Everyone was always welcome. If Jeff saw another person in the campground having problems getting a fire started, he would run over and give them a hand no matter what the weather was or the time. Jeff also loved hunting, fishing and was a master at sharpening knives. He would always tell people we knew or even people we just met to bring him their kitchen knives and he would sharpen them. He loved to share his knowledge of hunting and fishing with our friends' children. They would come over and stand by the fire and Jeff would spend sometimes hours with them sharing stories and knowledge. Jeff endured a long illness with strength and courage. When he passed, he was very peaceful and not in any more pain. Jeff and Colleen were married for 36 years and had a special relationship of love and support, which helped over the years. Jeff will be missed! There will be a Celebration of Life later this summer.
