John L. Cleveland
John L. Cleveland Died January 16, 2019, at age 93. Originally from Pelham, N.Y. Parents: Elizabeht Ames and John Luther Cleveland. A resident of New Orleans, since 2001, after Jackson Hole, WY. Active in sponsoring the Jazz Museum, in the New Orleans Mint Building; In supporting KidSmART, bringing music and art to public schools; Fellow at the New Orleans Museum of Art; extensive work on Fermat's Last Theorem, in conjunction with Tulane University department of mathematics. To take the place of General Lee's statue he proposed erecting a sculpture of Gen'l James Longstreet, who formed and led the first black militia in New Orleans' civil war. Father of four children based in Colorado and Massachusetts.
