JIM MCMANMON
JIM MCMANMON Our beloved Jim Michael Patrick McManmon, 75, passed away unexpectedly Monday February 4, 2019. Jim was a native of Chicago, and grew up in Metuchen, NJ. Jim is son of the late Robert Patrick McManmon and Vivien McWilliams McManmon. Jim was a compassionate and loving man who had a profound influence on so many. Jim was in a Jesuit order, The Brothers of the Sacred Heart, from the time he was age 14 to 28. Jim also dedicated his life to helping children by running the Broman Group Home for boys in Las Vegas for over 30 years and then as a substitute teacher for Faith Lutheran and CCSD. Jim enjoyed working with the church youth groups. Jim was a very lively, funny and gregarious man who knew no strangers and went out of his way to make people smile and laugh. His warm and radiant smile was welcoming and he always had a Joke, story or encouraging word ready for everyone he met. Jim was a poet, prolific writer and deeply spiritual man who leaves behind years of beautiful memories of a Life well-lived. Jim is survived by and will be greatly missed by his beloved wife and soulmate, Roberta Hatfield-McManmon; his son, Sean McManmon; daughter, Erin McManmon-Schmidt (Brady); his granddaughter, Maya; his brother, Michael McManmon; and sisters, Barbara Madison (Jim) and Linda McManmon (John). Jim will also be missed by his large, extended family both here in Las Vegas and back East, and by his many friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing a beautiful human being now resting peacefully in the loving arms of his Heavenly father. Services will be at 4 p.m. Sat., Feb. 9, at Mountain View Presbyterian Church, 8601 Del Webb Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89134 (702) 341-7800. Parking is available in the lot across the street as well in the Church lot. Condolences and donations to AA can be made in James McManmon's honor.
