John Paul Norton
John Paul Norton, 78 John Paul Norton, 78, of Port Richmond, died on Feb. 2, 2019. He was born in Manhattan and attended St. John the Baptist and then Curtis High School. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years, attaining the rank of E-3. He worked as a technician for the NYCTA. John was a parishioner of St. Roch's Parish. He was a member of the NYC Emerald Society, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. In 1994, he was the NYC Emerald Society's Irish person of the year. His hobbies and interests included Hawaii, coffee, Guinness, books, Jameson's, visiting family and genealogy. John's family would like to thank the staff of the SIUH Telemetry and CCU Units. John is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patricia Norton (nee Cunningham); two children, Coleen Daddino and Sean Norton; a grandson, Matthew Daddino; two sisters, Stella Polk and Margaret Gannon; and two brothers, Patrick and Dennis Norton. He was predeceased by his father, Alfred; mother, Stella; and brother, Richard. The funeral is from Casey Funeral Home, Castelton Corners, on Thursday. Mass is at 10 a.m. at St. Roch Church.
