Marion Portera, 56 Marion Portera (nee Andrews), 56, of Bulls Head, passed away peacefully on Jan. 29, 2018, at Richmond University Medical Center. She was a native Staten Islander. Marion was the daughter of the late Charles and Helen Andrews, and wife of the late Anthony Portera. She is survived by her children, Nicholas and Caitlyn Portera, her brothers, David and Charles Andrews, her twin sister, Ada Kurtz, brothers-and sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Marion worked for Nausch, Hogan, and Murray, Inc. in Manhattan as a secretary, leaving in 1996, to start her family. Herhobbies included crocheting, doing crafts, and traveling. In her free time she was a beloved member of the Order of the Eastern Star, for 32 years, in Alpha No.1 serving as Matron in 1992, and Stuyvesant-Parthenon No. 693. She was also a beloved member of Columbiettes Staten Island Auxiliary for 32 years, serving as auxiliary president. In lieu of flowers, donations to Volunteer Heart Ambulance, P.O. Box 060252, Staten Island, N.Y. 10306 are appreciated. Funeral from the Casey-McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home is on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 9:15 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rita's R.C. Church at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Park, Iselin, N.J.
