In memory of
Paul Riviere, 88, of Moss Point, MS passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at his residence. He was born June 30, 1930 to the late Nelvell and Eunice Riviere. He was a 1948 graduate of Moss Point High School. Paul served our country in the U. S. Merchant Marines for one year beginning in 1948, and also the U. S. Navy from July 1949 until April 1953. Before retirement in 1993, he worked at Ingalls for 38 years in the Submarine Nuclear Planning Department and the Aegis Program Office. He was an avid quail hunter and raised and trained bird-hunting dogs. He enjoyed fishing and camping with dear friends at Presley's Outing and Ross Barnett Reservoir. He loved traveling and RV'ing with his wife all over the United States. He was a longtime member of the VFW, Masonic Grand Lodge of MS #0202, American Legion Post 0160, and the N.R.A. Along with his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Marie (Victor) Lalli and Patricia (Robert) Benefield. He is survived by his wife, Nettie Riviere; daughters, Ann (Jerry) Fortenberry of Gautier, MS, and Pamela (Talmadge) Bohannon of Panama City, FL; son, Doug (Faye) Riviere of Orange Grove, MS; grandchildren, Dr. Erin (Dr. Sam) Fairbrother, Kyle (Lindsey) Fortenberry, Dennis Rushing, Chris (Ashton) Rushing, and Stephanie Baron; great-grandchildren, Emory Kate, Jake, and Grant Fortenberry, Emma Rushing, Nikki and Alexis Rushing, Kylie Smith, and Elizabeth Freeman; along with 19 nieces and nephews and many other friends and relatives. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 from 10:30 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Moss Point, MS. Funeral service will begin at noon in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Steve Cirlot and Bro. Loren Robinson officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Griffin Cemetery in Moss Point, MS. Pallbearers will be Kyle Fortenberry, Dennis Rushing, Chris Rushing, Thomas Perryman, Mitchell Cirlot, and Dewayne Lashley. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Stork, Pat Presley, Lynn Presley, Bob Hall, and Bobby Lambert. The family would like to give special thanks to Hospice of Light nurses and caregivers, and special niece, Michele Holt.
