Gordon Crowell Gordon Crowell of Manchester, passed away peacefully, at Clifton Springs Hospital, on Jan. 21, 2019, at the amazing age of 95. He was predeceased by two loving wives, Ruth Chambers Crowell and Barbara (Weed) Crowell; and son-in-law, Thomas Coyne. He is survived by four children, Tom (Maryellen) Crowell, Christine Coyne, Doug (Blair Carter) Crowell and Joanne (Rev. Doug) Hahn; sisters, Ruth Peters of Shortsville and Jane Johnson of Spring, Texas; close friend, Mary Bond; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Crowell served his country during World War II and then returned home to become the principal owner of the family business of R. B. Crowell and Son. For nearly 50 years he was influential in the agricultural business in Ontario County. Gordon was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Manchester throughout his entire life. He belonged to the Lions Club for many years and served on the Manchester village planning board. He had many friends throughout Ontario County and beyond. Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 28, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Halsted-Patrick Funeral Home, 19 N. Main St., Manchester. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 29, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 54 S. Main St., Manchester.
