Douglas Yancey Douglas Denver Yancey, 76, of Alma passed away Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019, at his home. He was co-owner and operator of Custom Parts Rebuilders since 1982. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He served as an alderman for Kibler City Council for 35 years. He was a loving husband, daddy and Papa. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Fort Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Denver and Aron (Howell) Yancey; and one sister, Verna Greenlee. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019, at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren, under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Peggy Yancey of the home; four daughters, Mary Presley and husband Joe, Laura Rompf and husband Fred, Sarah Seegers and husband Jon, all of Van Buren, and Tammy Albertson of Fort Smith; a sister, Debra Cobbs of Glenpool, Okla.; a brother, Jerry Yancey of Guthrie, Okla.; nine grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Bobby Townsend, Don Evans, Jake Mullins, Bill Vickery, Jerry Hudson, Roger Green and Troy Fonville. The family will visit with relatives and friends 6-8 p.m. at Ocker Funeral Home, 700 Jefferson St., Van Buren.
