James Neal (Dado) Holeman, Jr. Hermitage - Age 85, January 7, 2019. Preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Lawrence Holeman and his father, James Neal Holeman, Sr. Survived by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy Slate Holeman; daughters Janet (Michael) Tate (Huntsville) and Susan (Michael) Renshaw (Hermitage); grandchildren, Kelly (Brett) Davenport (Huntsville), Rachel (Bradford) St. Clair (Franklin), Eric Renshaw (Nashville), Jarrett (Samantha) Tate (Chicago), Jordan Tate (Chicago), Alexandra (Matthew) Edwards (Knoxville); great-grandchildren, Taylor Grace Davenport, William Holeman Davenport, Hudson Brett Davenport, Harper Adeline Davenport, Miles Alexander Tate, Grayson Neal St. Clair. Jim was born and raised in Clarksville and a 1955 graduate of Vanderbilt University's School of Engineering. He served in the Army Reserves and later had a successful career in electronic sales. Jim was an avid golfer and a member of the Old Hickory Country Club. He was an active member of Hermitage United Methodist Church and the Anti-cant Sunday School Class. Always a generous and thoughtful person, he donated his body for research to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. A memorial service will be conducted at Hermitage United Methodist Church, 205 Belinda Drive, Hermitage on Saturday, January 19. Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 and the service at 2:00. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or the Hermitage United Methodist Church.
