MARGARET HELEN DEMPSTER EDWARDS
EDWARDS, MARGARET HELEN DEMPSTER passed away after a 17 year battle with leukemia surrounded by her loving family Nov. 3, 2018. Born July 16, 1937 in Detroit to Andrew Thorburn and Doris Baldwin Young Dempster, she graduated from Radcliffe (Harvard) College. She raised her sons before working for years as a computer programmer, and was selfless and devoted to all her family. Survived by her husband of 60 years, Dr. Melvin L. Edwards, sons Thomas (Pam) of San Diego and Hawaii, Bruce of Seattle and Ann Arbor, David (Betsy Calhoun) of Livonia and Matthew (Sarah) of Seattle. 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Siblings Andrew (Suzanne) of Ann Arbor, Carol Dempster of New York City and Jill Licata Russell-Cave (Gordon) of Plymouth and England. Numerous nieces and nephews. A service of remembrance will be held at 2 pm on January 27, 2019 at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Ann Arbor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to World Vision or a similar children's charity.
