John William "Bill" Brinker Sr., 85, of Salem Township, passed away Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019. He was the beloved husband of the late Annabelle (Painter) Brinker; loving father of Katherine "Kitty" A. (James) Anderson and John W. (Lori) Brinker Jr.; adored grandfather of Brian James (Christina) Anderson, Eric William (Alyssa) Anderson and Olivia Nicole (Brian) Bohn; great-grandfather of Blake Harold Anderson, Ellie Sadie Anderson and Bennett Robert Anderson; brother of Thomas (Katie) Brinker, Aleck (Sue) Brinker, Robert "Bob" (late Brenda) Brinker, Judy (George) Visnick, Ralph Brinker, Keith Brinker, the late Richard "Dick" and Margie Brinker and the late Dan and Roseanne Brinker; brother-in-law of Carolyn (late Lester) Painter; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Bill worked for Bell Telephone for 36 years and was a member of the Jeannette F and AM Lodge No. 750. He was a lifetime member of the Trinity United Church of Christ where he served as an elder and deacon. He and his wife of 58 years loved spending time at Youghiogheny Lake, boating with family and friends. Bill was an avid outdoorsman and a proud member of the Wagon Wheel Thursday lunch group. Friends will be received from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the BASH-NIED FUNERAL HOME, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont, 724-468-8381, where services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday. Masonic services will be at 6 p.m. Sunday. Interment with military honors will follow at Twin Valley Memorial Park.
