In memory of
William Richard Blair
William Richard Blair, 79, passed peacefully in his home in Bedford, Ohio on January 8. He was the son of the late William M. and Lynore (Neely) Blair. A 1957 graduate of St. Joseph High School, Cleveland, Bill also attended John Carroll University, Cleveland and Rochester (NY) Institute of Technology. Bill enjoyed a long career selling printing and finishing equipment and was often lauded by his colleagues as the best salesman they had ever met. It was at Wittco Standard that he met his greatest mentor, the late Francis Witt, company founder where Bill finished his career as President. He was a life-long fan of the Indians and the Browns, enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader. Since his faith was the cornerstone of his life, he had a strong interest in religious writings. He gave time to the Light of Hearts Villa in Bedford, where he was known for the jokes he shared and also served on the Board of Directors for St. Barnabas Villa. Survivors include his wife, Sharon (Smith) Blair; daughters: Lindsay (Mike) Zampini, Hilliard, Ohio and Lisa Miller, Willowick, Ohio; sons William T. Blair, Eastlake, Ohio; Charles (Tabitha) Blair, Macedonia, Ohio and Richard (Kelly) Blair, Dublin, Ohio; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Judy (Charlie) Lucas, Ann Arbor, MI and Donna Hummer Blair, Portland, OR. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. There will be a memorial service January 24 at the Light of Hearts Villa., 283 Union St., Bedford starting with a Family Receiving Line at 9 a.m., a Memorial Mass at 10 a.m. with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bill's memory to Light of Hearts Villa.
