George R. Dunn
George R. Dunn, 68, of Irwin, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019, after a brief but aggressive illness with cancer. He was born March 8, 1950, in Greensburg, a son of Ethel (Clugsten) Dunn, of Irwin, and the late George C. Dunn. He was a retired certified public accountant who worked in the Irwin area, an avid pool player and a golf enthusiast. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his beloved wife, Amy I. (Spangler) Dunn, of Irwin; children, George C. Dunn, of North Huntingdon, and Sara (Jeremy) Zufall, of Norvelt; stepdaughters, Rachael Streich, of Pittsburgh, and Jessica (Timothy) Wonderly, of Ridgway; his brother, Pastor Dwight (Connie) Dunn, of Georgia; and his sister, Lorene (Dunn) Porthouse, of Florida. He was the dearest pappy of seven grandchildren, Alexia, Ava, Zane, Eli, Michael, Tucker and June. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Hannah, Rachel, Brandon, Sean, Seth and Nathan. Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME INC., 521 Main St., Irwin, 724-863-1200, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday with Pastor Dwight Dunn officiating, assisted by Chaplain Seth Dunn. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123, per request of the family.
