In memory of
Rev. Robert "Bob" Anderson
Rev. Robert 'Bob' Anderson July 1927 - Dec. 31, 2018 Robert Anderson of Beaverton, died peacefully at home at the age of 91. Bob was born in Minot, N.D., where he was raised on a farm with five siblings. At the age of 18, he enlisted in the Navy and served in the Philippines during World War II, then went on to graduate from Northwest Nazarene College in 1950. Bob became an ordained minister with the Church of the Nazarene in 1952. He served the Lord and touched hundreds of lives pastoring Nazarene churches in Texas, California, Kansas, Alabama and Ohio. In his later years in the Portland area, Bob continued to do the Lord's work as a substitute pastor, providing services to grieving families at funeral homes around the Portland area, volunteered to preach at a retirement home and was also the Chaplain in the Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue for many years helping families find peace and cope with tragedies. He had a great sense of humor, loved to talk with everyone he met and was a master storyteller. He was also a wonderful singer and used his voice to sing God's glory. Bob will be greatly missed here on earth but there is peace knowing he went into the open arms of his heavenly father saying, "Well done, good and faithful servant." Bob will be interred in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. His children will hold a memorial service in Toledo, Ohio at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Nazarene Compassionate Ministries or Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue.
