On December 31, 2018, our beloved Calvin Black was called to rest. He was born to the union of John and Josephine R. Black in Ferriday, Louisiana in Concordia Parish. He was the 6th child of eight. Calvin received Jesus and was baptized at an early age. Calvin Black served his country in the United States Army and served in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1954 and relocated to New Orleans, Louisiana. Calvin Black leaves to cherish his fond memories, three sons, Lawrence (Bobbie), Rashid (Roulette) and Kenneth, three daughters, Lisa, Karen and Sharon (Fred). Two sisters, Elnore Richardson and Josephine Williams. Sister-in-law, Marthiel Celestine, brother-in-law, Leon Hargrove, eight grandchildren, Quita, Keisha, Kevon, Barron(Vanessa) Tia, Ishmael, Rashad and Jauhara. Five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, wife Yvette Black, son Kevin Black, Brothers Weldon, Clarence and John Black, sisters, Octavia Frazier, Mary Black Richardson and Helen Hargrove. Service is Saturday, January 12, 2019 Law Street Missionary Baptist Church, 3132 Law Street, N.O LA 70117. Host Pastor, Reverend Johnny Arvie, Jimmy Jones, Officiating. Visitation 9am and Service at 10am. Interment on Monday, January 14, 2019 at Southeast Louisiana Veteran Cemetery-Slidell, LA. Floral Arrangements Adrian's Florist 852 N.
